"A chief event of life is the day in which we have encountered a mind that startled us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have just reclaimed my seat at this morbid desk, and it is exactly midnight. I was interrupted from my melancholy music listening to my friend calling me. "I'm going to need you to go to your front door" were her exact words. I open the door to a frigid midnight breeze, and the sight of my beautiful "ex" (as of roughly 1:30 pm today) holding a bouquet of flowers. I smile and reach to hug her, but she stops me and asks me to read the card in the flowers. She removes it from it's holder and holds it in front of her lips. It reads

"I love you baby.
Please. Be mine again?
I'm sorry.
I love you.
- Taylor"

These simple sentences have my world flipping upside down. I place both the card and the flowers on a box next to where we are standing, then I pull her chin to mine and kiss her. As my fingers caress her jaw then search absently through her blonde hair, I am being renewed.

A phone call, an answer, the opening of a door, a captivating sight,
a bouquet of flowers, a card and the most unforgettable kiss of a lifetime
has brought me back to happiness.
